Good funding rests on people: their experience, their judgement and the relationships they build. Our job is to support that, never to replace it.

Doing good matters more to us than making money. We're working towards B Corp certification to hold ourselves to that.
Fair to everyone
Grassroots, community and newer organisations should have the same chance as anyone else. We try to make things fairer, not just faster.
Built with the sector
We build Grantmaker alongside the funders and charities who use it, so it fits how the sector actually works.
Secure by default
We collect only what's needed, protect it properly and never use it for anything people didn't agree to.
Independent
We answer to the people we work with, not to investors. That leaves us free to do what's right and to take the long view.
A note from our founders.
We've worked with AI since long before it made the headlines: two decades, in fact, much of it in industry. We wanted to take that expertise beyond the commercial world, into work that makes a difference to society.
We already knew charities and local government well, having worked with them for years on projects such as Impactasaurus and the Social Value Engine. So we looked hard at where our skills could be most useful, and one thing kept coming up: funding.
There's never enough funding to go round, and never will be. But every hour lost to paperwork, by funders and applicants alike, is time and money that could have gone to the cause itself. If we can reduce that, the same funding can do far more good.
We believe the changes AI has brought to grant making so far are the tip of the iceberg, and that it will fundamentally change how funding is given and received. We'd like to help the sector get that right. That's as much about people as it is about technology, and it's what we've spent over a decade building products around.
We started Grantmaker in 2025, and we couldn't think of anything we'd rather be doing.
